Our Story

Koshe Quick Mart is a West African spice brand based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

What we make

Four blends: a suya blend for the grill, a pepper soup blend for the pot, a dry rub for chicken, and an all-purpose marinade for everything else. Between them they cover most of what a West African kitchen asks of a spice cupboard.

The three dry blends come in 50g and 100g jars. The marinade comes as a 250ml jar.

Why we started

The flavours of home are hard to find in Canada, and harder still to get right. Sourcing a dozen separate spices and guessing at the proportions is a lot to ask of a weeknight. Our blends are mixed to the proportions these dishes actually call for, so you can open a jar and cook.

Who we are for

For West African families who want the taste of home without the sourcing. For Canadian cooks curious about a cuisine they have heard about but never had a way into. For anyone standing over a barbecue wishing they had something more interesting than salt and pepper.

You do not need to know what yaji is to use it. That is rather the point.
